St Mary's Prestwich is one of my favourite Churches and so it was a great treat to be invited there to preach today for James Rhys' Baptism. I hope you enjoy the pictures of this remarkable Church, best known as the fictional 'Coronation Street' Church, indeed the flowers you can see are from their last filming, of a funeral, I am told. Their green altar frontal is a glory 0f the Church and well worth looking at close up. Their recent disposal of the Nave altar is to be applauded and there is the hope of a full restoration of ad orientem liturgy in the future.
