First Thursday Prayer Group.

An interesting icon of Evelyn Underhill.

The Choir stalls, facing west.

Thursday the 6th of September is our next 'First Thursday' meeting at St Hildas Church, Whittaker Lane, Prestwich at 7pm. Each month we pray, listen and talk about a particular issue, person or idea. This coming meeting we are having Vespers (sheets provided), followed by a brief outline about Anglican Mysticism then a talk on Evelyn Underhill, the great Anglican Mystic. If you know nothing, something or a lot about her, this proves to be a very interesting meeting. We will finish with our customary short Compline. As always, the meeting will take about 50 minutes and there will be space afterwards for private prayer should you wish.
There is something deeply soothing about sitting in the Choir stalls at St Hildas by candle light at the end of the day, praying and listening to people introducing new topics to us and I hope some of you will be able to join us.

Next month, the meeting will be on October the 4th, the feast day of St Francis of Assisi and I have invited a Franciscan who lives in Manchester to talk to us.
