The (now) Most Reverend James Wall was elevated to the episcopacy and named the fourth Bishop of Gallup (New Mexico) at a Mass on April 23 this past week. The night before the Ordination and Installation Mass, Solemn Vespers were prayed at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Gallup. A friend has provided photos from the event, which I now share with you.
Notice especially how local cultural elements were incorporated in the design and furnishing of the Cathedral. I think that this is a great example of "inculturation" done right.
