The Sacred Triduum at St Hildas Part III, Holy Saturday and the Great Vigil.

Everyone's coming out.

Unfortunately, we forgot the candle, so Simon had to go back in and get it. Unfortunately, it was dark and it took some time. If only we had some muffins to toast!

Fr. Norman sings the Exsultet.

The Recessional. Sorry about the order, it's late and I am tired.

Fr Tony our Orthodox Deacon friend.

The Preface.

Blessing of the waters.

On the way to the font.

Not yet, but a little while longer, but soon, soon He comes. Tonight we prepared ourselves for the joy of the Resurrection by the blessing of the Holy Fire, the singing of the Exsultet, the reading and singing of the prophecies and the blessing of the Waters followed by the vigil Mass. The stone on the tomb remains shut, however, and the Paschal Candle is burning all night to welcome our risen saviour tomorrow, when the altar will be resplendent in the ten tall candles and the best relics and silverware. For now, I am going to bed as I have a long day tomorrow.
